Weekend incident round-up


Road traffic collision near Heathfield

Firefighters rescued one person who became trapped following a two-vehicle road traffic collision near Heathfield.

Crews from both Burwash and Heathfield attended the incident on Saturday afternoon (11th February) at 4.28pm and remained at the scene until 6.27pm, making the area safe for the public.

Sussex Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended the incident.

Hailsham chimney fire 

Hailsham firefighters were called out to a chimney fire in White Dyke Road on Saturday (11th February) evening at 8.56pm. The crew were on the scene until 10.08pm and no-one was injured.

Firefighters called out after overcooked toast raises alarm

Hastings firefighters were called out to an incident after overheated food triggered an alarm at a property in Baldslow Road.

Two crews attended at 10.25am on Sunday (12thFebruary) morning and upon investigation no fire was found but firefighters ensured that the area was safe before leaving the property at 11.07am.

Flooding of electrics

Hove firefighters were called out after flooding affected the electrics at a property in Stapley Road yesterday (12thFebruary) at 11.34am.

Water was seen pouring out from the property and East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service was called in to isolate the electrics and make the area safe. Firefighters left the property at 1.17pm.

Crowborough chimney fire

Crowborough firefighters were called out to a chimney fire in Burnt Oak on Sunday (12th February) at 6.05pm. It took the crew less than half an hour to get the situation under control.
