East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service was called to two separate car fires in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday April 11th).
The first call came in at 00.51am, when a crew from Hastings, Bohemia Road, was sent to an alight car on Theaklen Drive, St Leonards. The fire engine arrived at 00.58am and firefighters used two hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze.
The call for the second incident came in at 00.53am, when the Service was alerted to a car fire on Barnhorn Road in Bexhill. A crew from Bexhill arrived at the scene at 1.03am and used breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to bring the fire under control.
Sussex Police attended both incidents. The cause of both fires at this stage is unknown and they are being investigated.
