Fire at Grade II listed house in Wadhurst


East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service has been called to assist with a fire at a Grade II listed house in Wadhurst this afternoon (Wednesday April 17th).

The call came in at 12.08pm, with a report of smoke issuing from the roof of the two floor house on Wenbans Lane. No one is believed to have been within the building when the fire broke out. Six fire engines have been sent to the property, with the first crew arriving at 12.16pm.

The crews attending are from Wadhurst, Mayfield, Burwash, Crowborough, Uckfield and Tunbridge Wells. Firefighters are using four breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to tackle the blaze.
