Fire in Appledore Road, Brighton

On 17h May at 05.18am, East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service received a call regarding a fire in a residential property, with people possibly trapped within the building. Two fire engines from Preston Circus and a fire engine from Hove were immediately dispatched to the property in Appledore Road, Moulsecoomb, Brighton.

Upon arrival, crews reported smoke issuing from the first floor flat. All people were accounted for by 05.28am. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to tackle the fire. The fire was under control by 05.43am.

One male casualty was treated at the scene by ambulance crews.
