Fire at Preston Barracks, Brighton

On 6th June at 01.13am, East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service received two repeat calls regarding a caravan fire at Preston Barracks, Lewes Road, Brighton.

Two fire engines from Preston Circus fire station were immediately dispatched to the scene and on arrival found one motorhome and one tree alight.

Crews removed one LPG cylinder from the scene and used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and 1:7 foam to tackle the fire.

An ambulance was called to attend to one casualty suffering burns to his hands and smoke inhalation. The fire had been put out by 01.46am with crews remaining at the scene until 02.20am damping down.
