On 26th September at 01.29am, the Mobilising and Communications Centre received a call from a member of the public who had spotted a roof was on fire on Camber Road, East Guldeford.
Two fire appliances from Rye were dispatched and arrived at the scene by 01.37am. On arrival, crews confirmed the roof was well alight and a further fire appliance was sent from Broad Oak.
At the height of the incident, crews used six breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets, one main jet, one thermal imaging camera and a hydrant.
A further fire appliance was also sent from Lydd, Kent, which was on standby at Rye community fire station. The incident was under control by 03.10am.
