Firefighters attend three-vehicle collision along A27

Lewes and Brighton firefighters were called to assist at a three-vehicle collision along the A27 eastbound this morning (8th March) at 8.15am.

Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to cut the roof and doors of one of the vehicles and were able to free a woman driver from the wreckage. The casualty was treated by paramedics and then taken to hospital.

Firefighters remained at the scene for just under an hour and assisted the other emergency services, as well as making the area safe.

The collision caused significant traffic delays during the morning rush hour period between Falmer and the Kingston roundabout.
