Fire in Bedford Grove, Eastbourne




On 6thAugust at 11.58am, crews responded to reports of smoke issuing from a window of a property in Bedford Grove, Eastbourne.

Two fire engines from Eastbourne were dispatched to the scene along with the Aerial Ladder Platform.

Upon arrival, crews issued a persons reported informative and additional appliances were dispatched, as a person could potentially have still been in the property. 

Appliances from Hailsham and Seaford were sent along with a control unit from Bexhill.

At 12.15pm, a message was issued from crews outlining that all persons were accounted for. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to tackle the fire in the first floor bedroom.

A thermal imaging camera was also used to check for hot spots within the property.
