Six people rescued after fire on Ship Street, Brighton

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service have rescued six people after a fire at the Old Post Office on Ship Street in Brighton.

Crews were called out at 13.07 on Saturday 17th August 2013 to reports of smoke coming out of the windows.

Eight appliances were sent to the scene and the ambulance service was also in attendance.

Six people were rescued.

As of 14.10 the fire was out and firefighters using breathing apparatus were searching the building.

A further update will be provided around 5pm.
