Firefighters free man after serious car crash on the A272

Firefighters were called to a serious car crash on the A272 between Buxted and Hadlow Down in the early hours of this morning, 25 January 2014.

Two appliances from Uckfield were mobilised at 3.42am.

The car was severely damaged after overturning and colliding with trees.

Crews worked with paramedics for an hour to free the driver using hydraulic cutting equipment.

The man was then taken to hospital by ambulance.

Motorists are being urged to drive according to the road and weather conditions, allowing extra time for journeys in poor weather.
