Crowborough fire station hosts fun day

Crowborough Community Fire Station will be celebrating the start of the school holidays with a family fun day.

This Saturday (19th July) crews are inviting families to come and join in the celebrations all to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity and the town’s birthing centre.

The entertainment kicks off at 10am with a chip pan fire demonstration, highlighting the dangers of cooking with fat, a road traffic collision display where visitors will see how firefighters free trapped crash victims from the wreckage of a car.

There will also be a charity stall and plenty of cake and refreshments to keep everyone happy, along with a BBQ.

A whole host of activities will be laid on to keep little ones entertained and the day will finish at 4pm.

Crew Manager John Haizelden said: “We are having a theme where we are on the lookout for the oldest person in the area who was born in Crowborough War Memorial Hospital. Waitrose will also present a cake and bottle of Champagne to them. There are also lots of raffle prizes to be won including meal vouchers, meat vouchers and lots, lots more.

“Kids can also enjoy badge making and dressing up with a chance to win a prize in the tombola.

“Come along, we would love to see you on the day.”
