Two incidents attended during latest strike

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service has resumed normal cover following a two hour strike by members of the Fire Brigades Union.

The industrial action begain at 6am and ended at 8am. It is part of an ongoing dispute with the Government over pensions.

Contingency crews were on duty and we attended two incidents:
* reports of smoke in a property in Brighton which turned out to be from an overheated heater
* reports of a fire at a property in Hove - a small fire in a hallway was out on arrival

Another strike takes place between 5-7pm tonight (16 July 2014).
