Bexhill firefighters rescue elderly man from fire

A 90-year-old man was led to safety by Bexhill firefighters following an accidental fire at a property in Bexhill.

Two appliances were sent to Camperdown Street, Sidley, Bexhill yesterday (2nd October) at 11.10am.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire with one hose reel and led the pensioner to safety, who was suffering after breathing in smoke.

He was left in the care of paramedics and taken to hospital.

Following a full fire investigation the cause of the incident was found to be accidental.
