Fire service hands over scene of fuel spill in Hastings

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service have been stood down after attending a fuel leak at a roundabout outside the Conquest hospital in Hastings.

They were called at 12.58 on 30 October 2014 to reports of a vehicle leaking diesel on The Ridge.

The road was closed while the area was made safe and a clean up operation began.

As of 17.20, crews had handed over the scene to contractors, who continued with the clean up.

The hospital has been functioning as usual throughout, with diversions in place.
