Fuel leak causes traffic problems near Hastings Conquest hospital

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called at 12.58 on 30 October 2014 to reports of a vehicle leaking fuel in Hastings.

As of 14.00 crews remain at the scene at the roundabout on The Ridge in Hastings, outside the Conquest hospital, where there has been a significant diesel spill.

The road is currently closed, though the hospital remains open.

We anticipate that the road will be closed along that stretch for the next two hours (until 16.00)  while the diesel is cleared.

We urge motorists to find alternative routes for their journeys, and are working with the hospital to ensure people have access.
